Job summary

Lex Ortho & Sports Medicine, part of the Lexington Health network in the Columbia area, seeks an experienced administrator to direct clerical and office activities. You will oversee daily operations, staff, payroll, and invoicing while ensuring adherence to procedures and service standards.

Close collaboration with the Practice Manager is required. The role requires at least a high school diploma, 1 year in a medical practice, and training in Medical Terminology, ICD-9, and CPT coding.

Responsible for review, coding and timely return of invoices to accounting. Works closely with Office Manager.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

  • Minimum Years of Experience: One year of experience working in a medical/physician practice setting

  • Substitutable Education & Experience: None

  • Required Certifications/Licensure: None

  • Required Training: Medical Terminology, ICD-9, and CPT coding experience

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Responsible for supervising accounts receivable posting/balancing, reviewing and processing delinquent accounts for proper handling or payment arrangements, collections, or indigent follow-up.

  • Responsible for review, coding and timely return of invoices to accounting.

  • Works closely with Practice Manager.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
