Job description

Job Title: Medical Office Receptionist - Waynesville Family Practice - FT - Days (7463-13039)

This role involves greeting visitors, communicating with patients and providers, and coordinating office workflow. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Completing check-in/check-out processes and updating patient demographics and insurance information.
  2. Collecting copays and outstanding balances.
  3. Preparing for appointments and managing phone communications.
  4. Maintaining office tidiness and supply logs.
  5. Handling information requests and managing front office tasks efficiently.
  6. Scheduling referrals and coordinating necessary records and notifications.
  7. Performing surgery scheduling, including documentation and pre/post-op arrangements.
  8. Managing prior authorizations and precertifications by verifying insurance coverage and arranging reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Minimum Work Experience: Medical front office experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Required Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently, handle stressful environments

Additional Details:

  • Full-time, day shift, 7-10 hour shifts on weekdays
