• The hours are variable days from 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM

The incumbent is required to support other Urgent Care clinics as needed, including front desk responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Job Summary

Supports various aspects of the practice, including charge entry and collection of co-payments at the time of service. Assists the physician in maintaining efficient patient flow within the office.

Under the direction of a Physician/Physician Assistant, performs a variety of clerical and patient support duties including scheduling, reception, telephone, data input, and exam room and medical chart preparation.

Works with managed care plans to obtain prior authorization to ensure that services of physicians and hospitals are reimbursed by the plans.

This position reports to the Manager for office duties and to the physicians for clinical and patient care responsibilities.

Demonstrates knowledge and skill to provide appropriate care in accordance with policies, procedures, and protocols and Arizona validated competencies.

Performs in a manner consistent with the HonorHealth statement by identifying and meeting the needs of all customers through integrity, respect, caring, accountability, and excellence.

Essential Duties
  1. Schedules patients and provides all necessary information to prepare them for medical appointments and procedures. Manages lab work, x-rays, and referrals, verifies authorizations, and transmits fax information. Collects co-payments, enters charges, and responds to billing requests. Initiates confirmation calls to reduce no-shows. Organizes scheduling, registration, and payment policies.
  2. Prepares treatment rooms, reviews patient charts, and assists with exams and procedures. Maintains supplies and ensures recall systems are up-to-date.
  3. Handles telephone communications, documents, and relays information to providers. Communicates with pharmacies regarding medication orders and refills.
  4. Performs front office duties such as reception, verification, and scheduling.
  5. Organizes and communicates with insurance companies for authorizations.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education

High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an MA training program required.

Licenses and Certifications

Completion of an approved training program or equivalent, and passing a certifying exam by an accredited organization. BLS certification required. Must have or obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card within seven days of employment.
