Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• Medical office and computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients and updates information, including addresses and insurance.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and registrations.
• Demonstrates knowledge of computer fields and insurance systems.
• Answers multi-line phones and schedules appointments.
• Collects payments and maintains cash drawer.
• Schedules referrals and outpatient testing/procedures.
• Registers new patients from referrals and coordinates with referring providers.
• Verifies benefits and obtains proper authorization.
• Registers inpatients from billing census sheets.
• Collaborates with Physician Billing to resolve issues.
• Coordinates care with the health care team to meet patient needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
