Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center's Wheelersburg Family Health Center seeks a Credentialed Medical Assistant to support providers during exams, record vitals, document medical history, and assist with prescriptions and patient education.

This full-time, 36 hours/week position requires CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/AMCA certification, a high school diploma, BLS within 90 days, and strong interpersonal skills to work with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Credentialed Medical Assistant - CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, AMCA required.
• BLS within 90 days of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the provider with patient examinations, procedures, venipuncture, and other diagnostic testing.
• Collect and document patient vitals, chief complaints, pain assessment, and past medical history.
• Phone or electronically send prescriptions to pharmacies; maintain medication lists.
• Ensure clinical supplies are stocked and available.
• Cross-trained to perform MOA duties and float to other SOMC offices as needed.
