One GI® in Memphis is seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant to greet patients, manage front desk tasks, and support busy gastroenterology clinics.

Ideal candidates have prior front office experience, knowledge of medical terminology, and a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Qualifications

• Front office experience in a medical setting preferred.
• BLS certification is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, assessing their needs and directing them appropriately.
• Answer phones and manage front desk communications.
• Verify and enter patient demographics in the EMR.
• Check referrals and ensure proper documentation.
• Assemble patient charts and ensure forms are signed.
• Schedule office visits, procedures, and tests.
• Collect co-pays and balances at time of service.
• Confirm upcoming appointments for next business day.
• Maintain front desk and reception areas.
