Pride Health is hiring a Offsite Medical Assistant to support our client’s medical facility based in Jackson Heights, NY – 11372. This is a 3-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization.

Job Title: Offsite Medical Assistant

Location: 37-22 82nd St, 37-22 82nd St - Multispecialty, NY, US 11372

Pay Range: $18 to $20 per hour

Shift: Days, May vary depending on operational needs 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 10:30 AM -7:00 PM.

Duration: 03 Months (Contract) with possible extension and a direct-to-hire opportunity.

Job duties:

Clinical Support Duties

  • Patient Flow and Exam Preparation:
  • Check daily schedules and organize patient flow efficiently.
  • Escort patients to examination or procedure rooms and assist as needed (e.g., walking, dressing, transferring).
  • Prepare exam rooms and patients for examination or procedures.
  • Assistance with Procedures and Testing:
  • Assist physicians during examinations and clinical procedures.
  • Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing and perform point-of-care testing as ordered.
  • Take and record vital signs; update patient medical records with relevant clinical data.
  • Patient Communication and Education:
  • Relay instructions from physicians to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
  • Answer incoming calls and respond with accurate and timely information or redirect as appropriate.

Administrative & Clerical Duties

  • Medical Records Management:
  • Send, receive, and organize patient medical records.
  • Obtain and manage lab reports, imaging results, referral documentation, and hospital records.
  • Documentation and Data Entry:
  • Enter patient orders into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Prepare prescription refill requests for physician review and approval.
  • Complete required forms, requisitions, and documentation accurately.
  • Chart and Record Organization:
  • Maintain and file patient charts with complete and accurate information, either electronically or manually.

Supply and Equipment Maintenance

  • Inventory and Stock Management:
  • Inventory and restock medical supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure exam rooms and equipment are set up and sanitized per infection control and sterilization protocols.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Maintain logs (e.g., medication refrigeration, crash cart checks, sterilization records, etc.) as required.
  • Monitor medication and supply expiration dates and dispose of expired items per policy.
  • Follow all hospital safety procedures and infection control guidelines.
  • Regulatory and Protective Compliance:
  • Adhere to PPE protocols to protect against exposure to infectious materials and hazardous substances.
  • Maintain a secure, clean, and compliant work environment in line with legal and institutional standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant certificate program from an approved school or equivalent training and experience; preferred 2 years of Medical Assistant experience without the certificate program.
  • MUST HAVE EXP IN A MEDICAL OFFICE 2 YRS MIN
