Job summary

Catholic Health in New York is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support patient care and front-office tasks in a busy practice. You will prepare exam rooms, review schedules, escort patients, record vitals, and assist with EKGs and in-office testing.

The ideal candidate has a NYS-accredited MA program, a high school diploma, and BCLS certification, with clinical phlebotomy and aseptic technique skills. A teamwork mindset is essential to delivering quality care.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Graduation from NYS-accredited Medical Assistant program required.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (NHA, AMT, AAMA, NCCT).
  • BCLS certification (in-person training only, American Heart Association).
  • Strong clinical skills including phlebotomy and aseptic technique.
  • Team-first attitude and commitment to providing respectful, quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms: sanitize, stock supplies, and ensure medications/vaccines are ready for the day.
  • Review upcoming appointments and identify gaps in care (mammograms, colonoscopies, immunizations, etc.).
  • Escort patients to rooms and manage patient flow to maximize efficiency.
  • Take and record vitals, patient history, allergies, medications, and current concerns.
  • Assist with procedures, including EKGs, Holter monitors, and in-office testing.
  • Collect and process lab specimens; track and document results.
  • Perform quality control on equipment and testing materials.
  • Help at the front desk when needed — greeting patients, answering phones, verifying insurance.
  • Collaborate with providers and the care team to ensure the best patient outcomes.

What You’ll Do

As a key member of our clinical team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting patient care and keeping our practice running smoothly. Your day-to-day work will directly impact our patients’ health and experience.

Salary Range

USD $26.00 - USD $30.00 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and position location. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
