Overview

Catholic Health Physicians Practices strives to deliver clinically excellent medical care to our patients. We are looking for a Medical Office Assistant who will provide the highest quality of patient care by becoming an integral part of the clinical team.

Job Details
Duties/Responsibilities
  1. Prepares exam rooms for use following protocol including disinfecting, stocking all rooms, and checking vaccinations and medications availability for the day.
  2. Preps the patient chart with pre-visit planning by reviewing the next working day’s schedule and identifying gaps in care. Ensures and/or obtains the last mammogram, breast ultrasound, colonoscopy, immunizations, and any clinical studies or consults required for that office visit.
  3. Escorts patients to exam rooms and directs patient flow for efficiency.
  4. Collects and documents patient information, clinical data, and other relevant information such as vital signs, allergies, medications, chief complaint, and current symptoms.
  5. Obtains additional data from patient/significant other, lab/test results, and reports findings to the provider, noting any abnormal findings or changes.
  6. Confirms and clarifies written orders prior to delegated tasks.
  7. Collects, prepares, and processes laboratory specimens, tracks, and enters results in the medical record, and performs quality control for waived testing.
  8. Assists with in-office procedures like EKG, holter monitor, and other tests.
  9. Assists with front office duties: greeting patients, answering phones, verifying insurances.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Completion of a NYS accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
  2. Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (from NHA, AMT, AAMT, or NCTC).
  3. BCLS certification from the American Heart Association (in-person classes only) required.
  4. Proficiency in phlebotomy, aseptic technique, and care tasks.
Salary Range

USD $22.87 - USD $29.13 per hour. This range is an estimate; actual pay depends on qualifications, skills, experience, and location. Benefits, bonuses, and incentives are not included in this range.
