Orion Placement in Atlanta seeks an experienced civil litigator to join as second chair on complex medical malpractice matters, with path to first-chair responsibility. The role offers a base salary of $180,000–$220,000, uncapped bonuses after year two, and a flexible hybrid schedule.

Candidates must be admitted to the Georgia Bar and bring 7+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably in plaintiff-side malpractice.

Qualifications

• Georgia Bar admission in good standing is required.
• 7+ years of civil litigation experience is required.
• Medical malpractice or complex personal injury experience is required.
• Must be able to independently take and defend depositions.
• Strong motion practice and independent caseload management are expected.
• Interest in mastering complex medical concepts for litigation.

Responsibilities

• Serve initially as second chair on complex medical malpractice matters with senior counsel.
• Manage a sophisticated caseload with significant medical, factual, and damages issues.
• Take and defend depositions independently, including experts and key witnesses.
• Draft and argue substantive motions; manage discovery, case strategy, and deadlines.
• Collaborate with medical professionals and nurse consultants on Labor & Delivery medicine.
• Develop case themes, evaluate liability/damages, prepare for resolution or trial.
• Transition to first-chair responsibility as competency is demonstrated.
• Continue supporting senior counsel as second chair on high-value matters.
• Travel as needed for depositions, preparation, and trial-related responsibilities.
