Job summary

Orion Placement in Indianapolis seeks an experienced plaintiff-side litigator to lead complex medical malpractice matters from intake through trial. You will collaborate with expert witnesses and co-counsel in a trusted, full-service firm with a long history of results for clients.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on medical malpractice or personal injury litigation, strong legal research and writing skills, and a demonstrated commitment to advocating for injured clients.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of litigation experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, or mass tort matters.
  • Strong legal research and writing.
  • Ability to manage a complex, multi-case docket and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to plaintiff-side advocacy.
  • Experience taking or defending depositions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of complex medical malpractice matters from initial intake through investigation and trial.
  • Conduct thorough case investigations including medical record review and coordination with expert witnesses.
  • Draft and argue pleadings, motions, and discovery in state and federal court.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, treating physicians, and expert witnesses.
  • Prepare cases for mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial.
  • Develop and execute litigation strategy in collaboration with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing clear, consistent communication throughout the process.
  • Advocate zealously for plaintiffs who have suffered serious harm from medical negligence.
