Job summary

Hancock Daniel is seeking a civil litigation Associate Attorney in Richmond, Virginia for a Medical Malpractice Defense Team. The candidate should have 3–10 years of litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice or civil defense, and be licensed to practice in Virginia or eligible for a waiver.

Role involves case evaluation, strategy development, client interaction, and collaboration with medical experts, with opportunities for courtroom exposure and growth.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice in Virginia, or ability to waive in.
• 3–10 years of litigation experience (preferably in medical malpractice or civil defense).
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Familiarity with medical terminology—or willingness to learn.
• Commitment to exceptional client service and continuous learning.

At the time of posting, the expected hiring range for this position is $115,000 to $175,000. An individual’s placement within the range will be determined based on relevant factors, including but not limited to education, training, skills, licensure and certifications, practice area, experience, internal equity, and market data.
