Our client, a well-established NYC law firm, is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Legal Assistant to join its team and support a Senior Trial Partner.

This is an important opportunity for an organized and highly collaborative legal professional who understands plaintiff-side medical malpractice and personal injury litigation. The Senior Trial Partner’s retirement creates a unique transition.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of legal assistant or paralegal experience in medical malpractice or plaintiff-side personal injury.
• Experience with NY court procedures and NYSCEF is preferred.
• Willingness to learn and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support a Senior Trial Partner with a substantial medical malpractice caseload.
• Coordinate day-to-day case management and progression of plaintiff cases.
• Communicate professionally with clients who have experienced serious injuries.
• Navigate the New York court system and NYSCEF.
• Maintain organized case files, calendars, deadlines, and materials.
• Assist with case tracking and workflow using case-management software.
• Collaborate with attorneys and legal support staff to keep cases moving.
• Ensure deadlines are met and nothing falls through the cracks.
• Learn and adapt to the firm's processes and procedures.
