Job summary

BCG Attorney Search is seeking an Associate Attorney in Glendale, California, with 1–5 years of legal experience, preferably in civil litigation, to assist in defending healthcare providers in complex medical negligence cases. You will contribute to case strategy, client communications, and risk assessment while upholding high standards of professionalism.

You will co-manage complex matters, participate in depositions and trials, and help develop trial themes.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of legal experience, civil defense preferred.
• Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing.
• Strong written and verbal communication with excellent organization.
• Proficient with common business software for legal analysis.

Responsibilities

• Co-manage complex medical malpractice defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Represent healthcare professionals in depositions, hearings, trials, and other proceedings.
• Assist and serve as second-chair trial counsel, developing trial themes and strategies.
• Manage trial preparation and execute comprehensive case strategies.
• Perform case evaluation and risk assessment with clients and insurance carriers.
• Appear and argue contested hearings and evidentiary motions.
• Direct settlement negotiations and mediations from a position of trial readiness.
• Provide strategic guidance to clients throughout the litigation process.
• Retain and prepare witnesses, including medical experts.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests.
• Defend and take depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Maintain and update case files accurately.
• Stay current on evolving medical malpractice law and procedural rules.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff for effective communication.
