Qualifications

• 2+ years of litigation experience, with medical malpractice defense preferred.
• Florida Bar license in good standing.
• A clear head with complicated records and timelines.
• The patience to explain a clinical issue simply, to a client, a mediator or a jury.

Responsibilities

• Defending physicians, hospitals, surgical centers, nursing staff and other providers
• Florida presuit investigation and the medical negligence process from notice of intent onward
• Working with expert witnesses to test causation and standard of care, and taking and defending expert depositions
• Preparing your provider clients to testify, often the most delicate part of the job
• Motions, hearings and trial preparation, with time in the courtroom and first chair trials as you progress
• Reporting to carriers and risk managers, and becoming a trusted contact for them
