Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct early case evaluation and develop defense strategy.
• Review medical records and complex medical issues.
• Work with physicians, hospitals, risk managers, and insurers.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery.
• Take and defend depositions of plaintiffs, healthcare providers, corporate representatives, and other witnesses.
• Prepare and defend expert witnesses.
• Coordinate with medical experts and evaluate causation and damages.
• Prepare cases for mediation, settlement, and trial.
• Communicate with sophisticated clients and insurance professionals.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, paralegals, and staff.

Overview

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, a national law firm with offices in all 50 states, has openings for Medical Malpractice Attorneys to join its growing litigation practice in St. Louis. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 4-8 years of experience. The firm offers flexible options for successful candidates, including hybrid opportunities.

Candidates must be driven team players with excellent litigation, writing, and persuasive speaking skills, possess strong academic backgrounds, proven skills in research, and be self-starters who are able to handle assignments with minimal supervision. Trial experience is preferred but not required.

• Evaluating causation, standard of care, damages, and exposure.
• Preparing cases for mediation and settlement.
• Handling hearings and other court proceedings.
• Preparing cases for trial and participating in trial proceedings.
• Communicating directly with sophisticated clients and insurance professionals.
• Working collaboratively with partners, associates, paralegals, and litigation support staff.
