Job summary

Morgan & Morgan is seeking an experienced Attorney to join our Medical Malpractice department in Birmingham, AL. The Attorney will handle a heavy, complex caseload from pre-litigation through trial, joining an established team within a leading consumer rights firm.

Responsibilities include drafting and filing litigation documents, guiding clients, and coordinating with expert witnesses, depositions, mediations, and trial appearances. Alabama bar in good standing required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of personal injury litigation experience, ideally medical negligence or malpractice.
  • Active AL State Bar license in good standing.
  • Law degree from an accredited law school.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a heavy and complex medical malpractice caseload from intake through trial.
  • Draft and file litigation documents including pleadings, discovery, motions, and memoranda.
  • Guide clients through the case process and coordinate with experts.
  • Attend depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation and appearances.

Summary

Morgan & Morgan is seeking an experienced Attorney to join our growing Medical Malpractice department. The Medical Malpractice Attorney will handle and support a heavy and complex case-load of cases from pre-litigation, litigation, trial prep and trial. This is an opportunity to join an established practice group and one of our top producing teams. This position would sit in our Birmingham, AL office.

Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day handling of medical malpractice cases from intake through resolution, including trial
  • Drafting and filing of litigation documents to include pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, demands, motions and memorandum
  • Guide clients through the case process
  • Interaction with expert witnesses to include conferences, drafting of expert reports and affidavits
  • Attendance and preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances and trial
Qualifications
  • Law degree from a fully accredited law school
  • An active member in good standing with the AL State Bar Association
  • 5+ years of personal injury litigation experience, ideally involving medical negligence/malpractice, catastrophic injury, and/or nursing home matters
  • Ability to manage high volume
  • Excellent client service and communication skills
  • Superior writing and oral advocacy skills
