Cole, Scott & Kissane is seeking an associate attorney to join our Medical Malpractice group in Florida. The role involves defending doctors, hospitals, nursing homes, and other health care providers.

Responsibilities include taking depositions, drafting motions, attending hearings, mediations, and trials, along with rigorous legal research and client communication. A strong emphasis on independent work and teamwork is required to excel in this collaborative practice.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in Florida (Florida Bar).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills evident in advocacy and client interactions.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities for case strategy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced litigation environment.
• Prior civil litigation experience is required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Take and defend depositions.
• Draft and argue dispositive motions.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Perform legal research and provide analysis of case law.
• Prepare pleadings and correspondence.
• Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel.
• Provide exemplary legal counsel to clients.
