Job summary

UMass Chan Medical School seeks an Education and Clinical Services Librarian to develop customized library services in support of research, education, and clinical enterprise. The role collaborates with faculty, graduate students, and staff to deliver tailored library resources and services.

The Librarian will support curriculum, provide virtual and on-site research assistance, and participate in collection development and long-term projects such as systematic reviews.

Qualifications

• Master of Library Science from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent.
• 2 years combined library, teaching, information technology, informatics, or biomedical research experience.
• Knowledge of discovery and access tools and databases used in libraries.
• Ability to prioritize tasks for patrons and colleagues.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to new technology and hybrid work environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide curriculum support for medical and nursing programs.
• Collaborate in teaching, learning, research and curriculum support as a trusted partner.
• Create and manage learning experiences to support patient care.
• Design projects or programs like LibGuides or subject portals.
• Provide virtual and in-person research assistance.
• Build relationships with faculty, students, residents, and staff regarding library services.
• Participate in collection development to support user needs.
• Serve as a content expert on long-term projects such as systematic reviews.
