Job summary

Harvard University’s Countway Library seeks a Research & Instruction Librarian to support education and research in biomedical information resources. The role focuses on systematic literature searching, instruction, and research collaboration with Harvard faculty and students.

Responsibilities include designing online learning tools, conducting evidence-based searches, and participating in collection development. ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS and 3+ years’ health sciences librarianship expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in library/information science from an ALA-accredited institution or advanced degree in the health sciences or a health-related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in an academic health sciences or biomedical library.
• Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based medicine and systematic review processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide education and instruction to graduate students, clinical faculty, and researchers on information resources.
• Conduct comprehensive literature searches to support systematic reviews and research projects.
• Support Harvard faculty with research questions, study design consultation, and data/resource discovery.
• Participate in collection development and resource evaluation to meet educational and research needs.
• Represent the library on committees and projects, contributing to strategic planning.
• Offer training on literature discovery, citation management, and use of bibliographic tools.
