Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Medical Technologist to join our team supporting locations in Nachitoches, Alexandria, Minden, and Shreveport, Louisiana. The PRN/floater role requires a Bachelor's in a chemical or biological science and a Louisiana State Medical Technologist License.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science or related field.
• License as Louisiana State Medical Technologist is required.
• Non-traditional degrees with science credits may meet education requirements.
• Understanding of laboratory operations and policies (CLIA).
• Experience in high-volume laboratory environments is preferred.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Determine specimen acceptability for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate test results to support patient care.
