Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics invites qualified candidates for a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) on a part-time basis. The role supports a rural healthcare community by collecting specimens, performing chemistry/hematology/microbiology tests, and ensuring accurate results in a CLIA-compliant environment.

Applicants should have an accredited MLT/MT program or a science degree meeting requirements, plus ASCP certification and a current BLS.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist program, or an applicable degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science meeting position qualification requirements.

Responsabilités

• Collect, prepare, and process patient specimens, including blood, urine, and other biological samples.
• Perform a variety of laboratory tests, including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and other diagnostic testing within established procedures.
• Perform blood banking procedures in accordance with applicable standards.
• Conduct quality control and proficiency testing in compliance with CLIA guidelines.
• Analyze, verify, and communicate laboratory results accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare specimens for reference laboratory testing and transport.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and analyzers.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
• Follow established safety, infection control, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support excellent patient care.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist program, or an applicable degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science meeting position qualification requirements.

• MLT or MT certification through a recognized credentialing organization such as ASCP, as applicable to the position.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures, medical terminology, and quality control standards.

• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and patient safety.

• Previous healthcare or laboratory experience preferred but not required.
