POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs and submits accurate results on specimens for laboratory analysis to aid physicians in diagnostic and therapeutic treatment of patients. Responsibilities include discrimination between closely similar items and correction using preset guidelines.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory technology.
• OR education and training equivalent to an associate degree in a laboratory science or medical technology, supported by an accrediting agency.
• OR high school graduate or equivalent with military training of 50+ weeks serving as a medical laboratory specialist.
• OR Medical Laboratory Science Student within 6 months of graduation from an accredited clinical training program, with successful completion documented by the program.
