Job summary

CTI Clinical Trial and Consulting Services in Cincinnati, OH, seeks a skilled laboratory professional to perform moderate to high complexity testing under CLIA guidelines. The role requires maintaining compliance, documenting deviations, and ensuring timely reporting of patient results.

The ideal candidate has a science degree, ASCP certification, 3+ years of relevant testing, and familiarity with LIMS, CAP/CLIA standards, and GCP/GLP knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a science or health-related field (chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology).
  • ASCP certification or equivalent required.
  • At least 3 years of experience with moderate/high complexity testing.
  • CRO or Clinical Research Trial experience preferred.
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of CAP/CLIA, with knowledge of GCP and GLP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform moderate and high complexity testing, per CLIA, following lab procedures for specimen handling, processing, and reporting.
  • Document deviations and/or corrective actions per laboratory policy.
  • Demonstrate competency at least annually as outlined by laboratory procedures.
  • Participate in proficiency testing to ensure CAP compliance.
  • Assist in inspections/audits as needed.
  • Utilize key software systems to ensure accurate and timely reporting of patient results.
  • Operate laboratory equipment and perform routine maintenance and quality controls.
  • Identify and address problems affecting test performance or reporting and notify appropriate lab management.

Job description

  • Stay current on and adhere to all laboratory policies and procedures. Properly document all deviations and/or corrective actions taken per laboratory policy
  • Demonstrate competency at least annually as outlined by laboratory procedures
  • Ensure laboratory compliance with CAP by participating in proficiency testing in accordance with laboratory procedures
  • Aware of regulatory requirements and performs studies to ensure those requirements are met at predefined intervals
  • Assist in preparing for and participate in inspections/audits as needed
  • Proficiently utilize key software systems in the lab to ensure accurate and timely reporting of patient results
  • Operate laboratory equipment and perform routine equipment maintenance, including quality controls. Identify, diagnose, and repair issues that may arise
  • Exercise good documentation practices in accordance with laboratory policies
  • Identify and address problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and notify/ consult with the appropriate members of laboratory management

  • At least 3 years of experience with moderate and/or high complexity testing

  • Working knowledge of CAP/CLIA, with knowledge of GCP and GLP preferred
