Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a PRN Clinical Laboratory Technician Generalist to join our team at Ascension St. Thomas Hickman in Centerville, Tennessee.

The position offers flexible hours with potential night and vacation coverage, and a focus on delivering accurate lab results to support patient care. Minimum qualifications include an associate’s degree in a chemical or biological science or medical technology, with 3+ months of lab testing experience or a MLT degree.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in a chemical/biological science or medical technology.
• 3+ months of clinical lab testing experience or MLT degree.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Determine specimen acceptability for testing per SOPs.
• Perform routine and complex testing procedures.
• Operate, troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure function.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare and evaluate reagents or controls.
• Report accurate test results for patient care.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and QC procedures.
• Replenish testing bench supplies as needed.
• Assist with processing specimens and maintain safety standards.

LabCorpis seeking a PRN Clinical Laboratory Technician Generalist to join our teamat Ascension St. Thomas Hickman in Centerville, Tennessee.

Work Schedule: PRN. As needed. No set hours. Start and end time will vary. Availability to cover nights and vacations as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Determinethe acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor,operateandtroubleshootinstrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisionsregardingtesting and problem solving.
• Prepare,testand evaluate new reagents or controls
• Reportaccurateandtimelytest resultsin order todeliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identifyand replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assistwith processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wearappropriate personalprotective equipment

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biologicalscience, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
• 3 or more months of clinical laboratory testing experience or a MLT degree

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1yearor moreofclinical laboratory testing experience
• 1 year or more of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) generalist
• 6 months or more of phlebotomy experience
• ASCP or AMT certification

AdditionalJobStandards:

• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet educationrequirement
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficient with computers
• High levelof attention detail along withstrong communicationand organizational skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
