Labcorp is looking for a PRN Clinical Laboratory Technician Generalist to join the team at Ascension St. Thomas Hickman in Centerville, Tennessee. The role offers flexible PRN hours with coverage for nights and vacations as needed.

Minimum qualifications include an associate’s degree in a chemical/biological science or related field and 3+ months of lab testing experience. ASCP/AMT certification is preferred and familiarity with lab information systems is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology is required.
• 3+ months of clinical laboratory testing experience or a MLT degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and the ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsabilités

• Determine acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper function.
• Prepare, test and evaluate reagents or controls.
• Report accurate test results to support patient care.
• Perform quality control and preventive maintenance as needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and PPE usage.

Labcorp is seeking a PRN Clinical Laboratory Technician Generalist to join our team at Ascension St. Thomas Hickman in Centerville, Tennessee.

Work Schedule: PRN. As needed. No set hours. Start and end time will vary. Availability to cover nights and vacations as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
• 3 or more months of clinical laboratory testing experience or a MLT degree

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
• 1 year or more of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) generalist
• 6 months or more of phlebotomy experience
• ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficient with computers
• High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
