Job summary

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC is recruiting Medical Laboratory Technicians to support the Reno VA Medical Center in Reno, NV. The shift is typically Sunday–Wednesday, 10-hour shifts, with schedules subject to change by Ansible or its customers.

Responsibilities include performing tests in Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, and Coagulation; reporting results; maintaining instruments; ensuring QC/QA; and documenting activities in LIS, with possible weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in a related field or military MLT training and experience.
• Certification as MLT by ASCP-BOC or AMT is required.
• Experience within last three years is preferred (1+ year).

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of clinical lab testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, and Coagulation.
• Analyze specimens and report results per lab policies.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Ensure quality control and QA, document activities.
• Review and release test results with timely turnaround.
• Maintain LIS records and collaborate with care teams.

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting Medical Laboratory Technicians to support the Reno VA Medical Center located at 975 Kirman Ave, Reno, NV 89502. Shift schedule is typically Sunday-Wednesday 10-hour shifts. Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of clinical laboratory testing in the areas of Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, and Coagulation.
• Analyze patient specimens and accurately report laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory policies and procedures.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Ensure quality control and quality assurance standards are met and document all required laboratory activities.
• Review, verify, and release test results while maintaining accuracy and timely turnaround times.
• Perform specimen processing, preparation, handling, and storage according to laboratory protocols.
• Recognize instrument malfunctions and testing discrepancies and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Adhere to all laboratory safety, infection control, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation within the laboratory information system (LIS).
• Collaborate with laboratory staff, providers, and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care.
• Participate in training, competency assessments, and continuing education activities as required.
• Support operational needs of the laboratory, including weekend, holiday, and off-shift coverage as necessary.

Qualifications

• An Associate or higher degree in a related field from an accredited educational institution, or military MLT training and experience
• Completion of a medical technician practice program and certified as an MLT by the ASCP-BOC or AMT
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years - PREFERRED
• Experience operating any of the following analyzers is strongly preferred:
  • Chemistry: Abbott Alinity ci
  • Hematology: Sysmex
  • Coagulation: ACL TOP
  • Urinalysis: Sysmex
  • Blood Bank: Bio‑Rad IH‑500
• Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory medicine techniques and practices
• Demonstrated education and clinical training in the practice of laboratory medicine

All candidates must be able to:

• Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
• Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
• Lift up to 20 lbs
• Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
• Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
