Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician 2 for a part-time evening shift. The schedule includes every Monday and Tuesday evening, and alternating weekend evenings. The candidate should have an Associate’s degree in science and be eligible for ASCP or AMT certification.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree in science; ASCP/AMT board certification eligibility required.
• Experience: 1 year of experience in clinical laboratory settings preferred.
• Certification: Certified Medical Lab Technician or Medical Laboratory Technician eligibility to start.

Responsibilities

• Ensures quality specimens for laboratory testing by recognizing pre-analytical factors.
• Communicates effectively with team members to optimize performance.
• Demonstrates knowledge of operational and regulatory standards.
• Operates systems/methodologies to produce timely, accurate data for patients and QC.
• Participates in professional growth opportunities and adheres to regulatory standards.
