Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, Texas is seeking a Med Lab Tech 2 to perform and monitor a full range of laboratory tests with minimal supervision. The role includes problem resolution, quality control, and equipment maintenance while maintaining safety and accuracy.

You will follow regulatory procedures, maintain supplies, report results, and collaborate with lab staff and other departments to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
• Experience: Less than 1 year of laboratory work experience.
• Certification/Registration: CLS or MLT certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests in compliance with department procedures and all pertinent regulatory requirements.
• Follows quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Performs instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Accurately reports test results.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintains effective communication with laboratory personnel and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.

• Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT): Must have one of the following certifications: MLT or CLS.
