Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates of Science Degree with a minimum of one year general laboratory experience in medical laboratories.
• Certified in ASCP as an MLT or as a CLS with NCA Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organizes workflow by matching orders with specimens, labeling, logging, and preparing reports.
• Maintains quality results by running controls, calibrating equipment, and following QC procedures.
• Trains and supports staff; engages in professional development and education.
• Identifies abnormal patient conditions and communicates with supervisory staff, pathologist, physician, or nurse.
• Performs chemistry, hematology, and serology testing and reports results for diagnosis and treatment.
• Performs STAT and routine lab testing and handles clerical tasks per procedures.
• Participates in quality control data review and proficiency testing.
