Job Overview

Performs routine and complex laboratory analyses on clinical specimens in various sections of the laboratory under supervision.

Responsibilities

1. Perform routine and complex procedures using established criteria to ensure quality clinical information. Verify test accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and linearity. (50%)
2. Operate, calibrate, check, and maintain laboratory instrumentation. Recognize and address quality control issues. (30%)
3. Stay updated with current and emerging technologies through participation in relevant programs. (5%)
4. Collect and process patient specimens according to laboratory policies and within expected time frames. (5%)
5. Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure availability of supplies for efficient operations. (5%)
6. Mentor students and new employees in laboratory testing following AHN policies. (5%)
7. Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Associate degree in an ASCP-eligible program or equivalent. Must meet ongoing education requirements for certification.

Preferred

• Clinical laboratory experience.
• Medical Laboratory Technician certification or equivalent.
