Allina Health's Abbott Northwestern Hospital Central Laboratory seeks a Laboratory Technical Assistant to perform pre-analytic procedures across histology/core lab/microbiology. You will collaborate with certified staff and pathologists to ensure accurate specimen labeling, collection, and preparation.

This role supports routine testing and clerical duties with potential waived testing. Located in Minneapolis, this 1 FTE evening shift position includes perfoming administrative tasks and

Qualifications

• 36 semester hours of chemistry/biology/medical laboratory, or equivalent; at least 24 hours biology/medical lab tech
• Minimum 3 months lab training in each specialty lab area where highly complex testing is performed

Responsibilities

• Performs routine pre-analytic laboratory procedures.
• Evaluates acceptability of specimens.
• Processes specimens and orders in EMR.
• Troubleshoots specimen labeling/collection requirements and orders.
• May perform waived testing.
• Stocks, rotates and requests supplies.
• Trains others in assigned area; may assist SOP development.
• Participates in departmental or system-wide projects or committees.
