SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital in Missouri seeks a Non-Certified Lab Technician to perform routine and complex analyses in the Cell Therapy laboratory. The role supports microbiology, chemistry, hematology or molecular testing under supervision, with a day shift and on-call requirements.

Qualified candidates have an Associate’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science; no experience is required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree is required.
• No prior experience required for this role.
• Day shift with on-call coverage and occasional evenings/weekends as needed.

Responsabilités

• Performs a full range of laboratory tests from simple blood tests to more complex tests.
• Assesses specimens for correct handling and quality.
• Confirms the accuracy of test results and reports findings to physicians.
• Operates complex electronic equipment, computers and precision instruments.
• Performs and evaluates quality control procedures.
• Performs periodic maintenance and assists with calibration of instruments.
• Assists with proper storage of hazardous materials.
• Maintains competencies and continuing education to stay informed of new developments in the field.
• Assists in the proficiency testing program in the lab.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safety.
