Job summary

CHI Health Missouri Valley is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to perform clinical laboratory procedures, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting under leadership direction. You will handle waived and moderate tests across disciplines, maintaining safety and instrument calibration.

The role requires knowledge of laboratory principles, from microbiology to chemistry, with emphasis on quality control and compliance.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associates of Science in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA.
• GED General Studies or equivalent, and/or official military medical laboratory training.
• Military medical laboratory specialty (Lab Technician)
• Preferred certifications: AMT, ASCP, AAB.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived and moderate clinical laboratory procedures.
• Ensure accuracy and timely reporting of test results.
• Maintain and calibrate major automated equipment; coordinate repairs when needed.
• Perform calibration and quality control procedures with proper documentation.
• Participate in proficiency testing and validation of new procedures/equipment.
• Assist in documentation for validation of new procedures and equipment.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Lab Technologist, you will perform vital clinical laboratory procedures to detect, identify, measure, and report data crucial for disease diagnosis and treatment.Every day, you will expertly conduct waived and moderate procedures using technical skills, instrumentation, and information systems, providing essential clinical laboratory support while ensuring the quality and accuracy of all tests under leadership direction.To be successful in this role, you will possess comprehensive knowledge of laboratory principles across various disciplines (microbiology, hematology, chemistry, etc.), understand sample processing and result interpretation, prioritize chemical and biological safety, and be adept at operating and maintaining lab equipment.

• Aligning with local and state requirements performs lab test procedures on patient specimens adhering to the Section's Standard Operating Procedures to ensure accurate, timely reporting.
• Provides excellent patient care through clinical correlation of results, identification of patterns of bias, rapid notification of appropriate caregivers of critical values, and completion of testing within established turn-around-time limits
• Ensures that major automated equipment is operational by performing required maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting procedures; including contacting of instrument vendor for assistance or repair
• Performs required calibration and quality control procedures and maintains records to ensure tests are being performed within established parameters
• Performs proficiency testing as assigned and review results with laboratory clinical leaders
• Assists in evaluation and generation of compliant documentation for the validation of new procedures and equipment to provide the physician with the most current laboratory technology

We are offering up to $5,000 as a Sign-on Bonus as well as up to $10,000 in Educational Assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Preferred
