Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Schuyler, Nebraska, is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to perform waived and moderate laboratory procedures, delivering accurate data to support disease diagnosis and treatment. You will operate and maintain laboratory equipment, follow SOPs, and collaborate with caregivers to communicate critical results promptly while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Associates Of Science in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA., upon hire or
• Military medical laboratory course and held the medical laboratory specialist (Lab Technician) occupation, upon hire or
• High School GED General Studies completed an official military medical laboratory course and held the military enlisted occupation of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Lab Technician), upon hire

Responsibilities

• Aligning with local and state requirements performs lab test procedures on patient specimens adhering to the Section’s Standard Operating Procedures to ensure accurate, timely reporting.
• Provides excellent patient care through clinical correlation of results, identify patterns of bias, rapidly notify caregivers of critical values, and complete testing within turn-around-time limits
• Ensures major automated equipment is operational by performing maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting; contacting vendor for assistance or repair
• Performs required calibration and quality control procedures and maintains records to ensure tests are within established parameters
• Performs proficiency testing as assigned and reviews results with laboratory clinical leaders
• Assists in evaluation and generation of compliant documentation for validation of new procedures and equipment to provide physicians with current laboratory technology

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As our Medical Lab Technologist, you will perform vital clinical laboratory procedures to detect, identify, measure, and report data crucial for disease diagnosis and treatment.

Every day, you will expertly conduct waived and moderate procedures using technical skills, instrumentation, and information systems, providing essential clinical laboratory support while ensuring the quality and accuracy of all tests under leadership direction.

To be successful in this role, you will possess comprehensive knowledge of laboratory principles across various disciplines (microbiology, hematology, chemistry, etc.), understand sample processing and result interpretation, prioritize chemical and biological safety, and be adept at operating and maintaining lab equipment.

Responsibilities

We are offering up to $5,000 as a Sign-on Bonus as well as up to $10,000 in Educational Assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
