Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia seeks a Medical Technologist II to perform clinical laboratory testing across General Lab and Blood Bank, with supervision by supervisors, Manager or Director. The Med Tech II will work as a generalist or SME in assigned areas, report test results, maintain instruments, and participate in quality control and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Medical Technology or related science (per policy)
• ASCP/AMT/AAB certification required upon hire
• Proficient in data entry and handling laboratory information systems
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical laboratory testing in General Lab, Blood Bank, or Microbiology per approved protocols
• Maintains equipment and records; participates in quality assurance and proficiency testing
• Trains and supports other staff; serves as a technical resource to supervisors
• Conducts shift hand-offs and communicates results and issues to team members
• Ensures compliance with Wellstar policies and readiness for CAP and Joint Commission inspections
