Qualifications

High school diploma and college degree in Laboratory Science or equivalent; ASCP accreditation or eligibility within 6 months.
One year experience in a medical laboratory environment (or transferable military lab experience).
Certificate of completion from an accredited laboratory training program (or equivalent).
Demonstrates competencies within 2 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

Perform and support routine lab tests with accuracy and validity.
Phlebotomy and collection of specimens for testing as needed.
Process patient specimens correctly to ensure accurate results.
Maintain proper documentation for COLA/CLIA/OSHA compliance.
Communicate with physicians and staff to ensure proper specimen handling and result reporting.
Conduct quality control and instrument maintenance per SOPs.
Assist in proficiency and competency assessments as required.
