Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform a range of routine and complex tests, reporting results promptly to support patient care. You will maintain and QC equipment, and participate in on-call coverage as needed.

Requirements include an Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field, and certification (ASCP or AMT) or eligibility within 18 months. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Certification required (ASCP or AMT) or eligible to take exam within 18 months of hire.
• Willingness to sign-up for on-call shifts and cover other shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests and report results within the expected turnaround time.
• Carry out equipment maintenance, calibration and quality control testing per procedures.
• Handle specimen transport, processing for in-house and send-out testing for reference laboratories, and related communications.

Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences or related field
