Overview

Texas Oncology is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at the Dallas Medical City location. This position may be classified as Level 1, 2, or Sr., depending on the candidate's experience.

Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the U.S., with over 600 providers across more than 220 sites in Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. Role Responsibilities

The MLS is responsible for:

  • Performing specimen analysis, instrument maintenance, and quality control for moderate and high complexity tests.
  • Following quality assurance and safety policies.
  • Specimen collection and assisting with patient flow.
  • Training staff in laboratory procedures.
  • Acting as primary operator for laboratory instruments.
  • Performing clinical tests to assist in disease diagnosis and treatment.
  • Monitoring test quality and troubleshooting issues.
  • Maintaining documentation and inventory.
  • Participating in proficiency testing and developing new procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
Qualifications

Depending on the level:

  • Level 1: Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or related, current license if required, and no experience needed.
  • Level 2: Same as Level 1, plus at least 3 years of experience.
  • Level Sr: Same as Level 2, but with 5+ years of experience.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role requires manual dexterity, visual acuity, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Work is performed in an office/lab setting with frequent travel, approximately 70% of the time.
