Henry Ford Macomb Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform routine and complex analyses on blood and body fluids using manual techniques or lab instruments, requiring independent judgment and collaboration with healthcare teams.

MLS candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or related field and 6 months of lab experience. Certification from ASCP or equivalent is preferred. Sign-on bonus available and a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a medical laboratory field from an accredited college/university.
• Six months of experience in a medical laboratory setting.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge to perform laboratory functions.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine and complex tests on blood and body fluids using manual or automated techniques.
• Apply judgment to take action and develop solutions; collaborate with leadership to improve processes.
• Evaluate instrument performance and quality control results for accurate data release.
• Calibrate, maintain, quality control, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and information systems.
• Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies.
• Participate in quality assessment activities and competency assessments.
