Job summary

Intermountain Health Layton Hospital seeks a Medical Technologist/MLS to perform a range of tests across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and transfusion services. You will ensure accuracy through calibration, QC, and data reporting while working with healthcare teams to support patient care decisions.

The role requires MLS/MLT credentials, ASCP or equivalent certification, and flexibility for shifts including weekends/nights/on-call.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory/medical technology science or related field required.
• ASCP certification or equivalent required/maintained.
• MLS program completion with eligibility to sit for the BOC.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekends/nights/on-call.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of laboratory tests on blood, tissue and body fluids.
• Interpret and analyze test results for patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment with proper calibration.
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of results.
• Prepare and handle samples according to protocols to prevent contamination.
• Record and report data accurately to healthcare providers.
• Maintain laboratory safety and adhere to protocols.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
