Responsibilities include specimen handling, LEAN adherence, routine and specialist testing, equipment upkeep, and staff training, with ongoing opportunities for professional development and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science required and eligible for MT/MLS/Technologist exam routes.
• Must meet CLIA requirements to perform highly complex testing.
• Certifications by ASCP BOC, AMT, or AAB ABOR or equivalent accepted.
• Experience in clinical laboratory disciplines required.
• Certification within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates patient and workplace safety and reports concerns.
• Obtains, labels, and delivers specimens per standards.
• Supports LEAN, productivity standards.
• Prioritizes and performs routine and esoteric procedures within established time guidelines.
• Maintains equipment, inventory and work area; documents properly.
• Performs troubleshooting; liaises with clients and nursing staff; interprets data.
• Trains students and new employees.
• Documents QC, proficiency testing, QA and other regulatory records.
