Join our MUSC Health Chester Medical Center team as a Medical Lab Technologist/Medical Lab Scientist and contribute to delivering accurate, life-saving results that support physicians in providing exceptional patient care. Education includes a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field, with MT (ASCP) or equivalent required and MLT (ASCP) within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification required.
• MLT (ASCP) must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized moderate to high complexity laboratory testing on blood and body fluid specimens.
• Ensure accurate and reliable test results through strict quality control practices.
• Perform instrument function checks and preventative maintenance according to departmental procedures.
• Maintain laboratory records and statistical data in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Train and mentor new employees and students on lab procedures and policies.
• Collect chain-of-custody urine drug screens as required.
• Assist in all laboratory areas to support patient care.
• Help provide shift coverage when needed.

Shift Differentials

Earn additional pay for eligible shifts (must work at least 4 hours within the shift window).
