Job summary

Cape Fox Concentric Methods in Las Vegas, NV seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to support the Air Force Facility at Nellis Air Force Base. The exempt, full-time position offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

Salary range is $90,000.00 - $94,000.00 with benefits including holidays, PTO, health, dental and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, tuition reimbursement, and 401K with company match. Weekend shifts may occur; 40 hours per week max.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of clinical laboratory tests in hematology, chemistry, cytology, histotechnology, urinalysis, serology, microbiology, bacteriology, and immunohematology.
• Collect specimens and analyze blood draws across age groups, aiming for a standard of 10 patients per hour.
• Prepare specimens and ensure proper physiologic state for analysis.
• Prepare reagents and reference materials as needed.
• Calibrate, standardize, adjust, and maintain instruments.
• Verify instrument operation with QC checks and troubleshoot simple issues.
• Interpret data and correlate results to verify accuracy.
• Manage operations in the assigned department and oversee Medical Laboratory Technicians.
• Train designated staff on laboratory operations.
• Conduct quality control procedures and maintain records for QA reports.
• Document and maintain electronic medical information in the LIS system.
• Escalate concerns to lab management and adhere to safety and accreditation procedures.
