Job summary

Tidelands Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to perform routine laboratory tests to aid in diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. The role requires the knowledge of lab principles, adherence to HIPAA, and accurate EMR use.

You will work as part of a team in a coastal South Carolina setting. May require performing chemistry/hematology/urinalysis/immunology and ensuring quality control.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Medical Lab Technology or chemical, physical, or biological science.
• Clinical training in an accredited school of Medical Lab Technology.
• MLT certification/licensing required (AAB/AMT/ASCP as applicable).

Responsibilities

• Perform chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and immunology tests.
• Report test results following clinic protocols and alert providers about abnormal results.
• Ensure quality control in collecting specimens, sampling accuracy and record keeping.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Set up, calibrate, clean, and test sterility of laboratory equipment.
• Comply with OSHA safety policies and infection control regulations.
• Serve as back-up to the Lab Manager when needed.
