Job summary

Hillsboro Medical Center in Oregon is seeking a Medical Technologist II/Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform routine and complex tests, provide diagnostic data, and support quality control and training across laboratory sections.

This full-time role requires MLS certification (BOC/ASCP CMP as applicable), at least three years hospital experience, and may involve lead duties. Relocation assistance up to $15,000 is offered; pay range is $40.79–$59.17 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical, or biological science.
• If Bachelor’s degree is not in science disciplines above, must have at least two (2) years of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing.
• ASCP BOC certification or equivalent required prior to offer.

Responsibilities

• Performs and evaluates quality control testing following departmental policies and procedures.
• Participates in training of new staff in general laboratory practice and in primary area of expertise.
• Maintains work center, including stocking supplies and preparing reagents.
• Communicates results to physicians or nurses for urgent attention and follows up with pathologist as needed.
