Overview

This position could be hired as a Medical Lab Scientist I or II. The details below are for a Medical Lab Scientist II. The recruiter can discuss compensation and job requirements for qualifying candidates for the I level.

Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory procedures requiring independent judgment and responsibility; maintain equipment and records; conduct quality assurance activities related to test performance; serve as the technical specialist for all laboratory disciplines.
  • Operate and maintain a high‑technology laboratory that includes Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulations, Urinalysis, Blood Bank, and a full Microbiology Department.
  • Utilize a state‑of‑the‑art automation line, Epic Beaker, and SoftBank LIS systems within a high‑energy department.
  • Work nights on a 4‑10 hour shift schedule (7:30 pm–6:00 am) with weekend and holiday rotation.
Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $30.34. Individual compensation is determined by directly relevant experience and includes applicable shift differentials and premium pay. The hourly rate is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.

Schedule

Nights, 4‑10 hour shifts (7:30 pm–6:00 am), with weekend and holiday rotation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, or a related field.
  • Certification as MT (ASCP), MLS (ASCP) CM, MT, or AMT.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, talk, listen, lift or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
  • Proficiency in microscope use with excellent hand‑eye coordination and color discrimination.
  • Ability to maintain concentration amid interruptions and work in a high‑stress environment.
