Job Details

Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday (40 hrs/wk), 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM.

Training Schedule: Monday - Friday (40 hrs/wk), 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Department: Automated Core Laboratory - 821.

Primary Purpose

Provides technical and non-technical laboratory services, performs routine and complex tests, and works under supervision to deliver rapid, accurate results. Not qualified for supervisory delegation in NY testing areas.

Essential Functions

• Performs waived, moderate, and highly complex tests following SOPs.
• Operates, calibrates, troubleshoots lab instruments, and reports service needs.
• Maintains QC procedures and records.
• Handles specimen collection, processing, and data entry accurately.
• Monitors QC, participates in QA, proficiency testing, and resolves test discrepancies.
• Trains staff, provides technical guidance, maintains inventory, and manages workflow.

Physical and Other Requirements

Includes bending, reaching, mobility, communication, PPE use, and visual acuity. Requires continual education and adherence to safety policies.

Education Qualifications

Evaluation of education credentials required. Candidates within one semester of completing a Bachelor's in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field may be considered. Certification must be obtained within six months of hire.

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or related field.
• MLS (ASCP), MT(ASCP), or equivalent certification.
