Qualifications

• BS Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Biological Science; ASCP eligible or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills; strong teamwork.
• 0–2 years of laboratory experience or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to performance standards, policies and behaviors.
• Follow laboratory and hospital policies and procedures.
• Perform a wide variety of laboratory techniques, including moderate to high complexity tests.
• Independently operate instrumentation and assigned benches.
• Safely use department equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot instrument failures.
• Support overall lab operations per policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Assist with training new employees as needed.
• Assist with specimen processing.
• Assist with inventory management and control.
• Meet continuing education requirements to maintain licensure.
• Demonstrate professionalism and commitment to competency and career growth.
• Handle routine tests, instrument maintenance, and quality control procedures.
• Cover other lab sections as needed to assure efficient operations.
