Job summary

Orlando Health, Inc. is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to analyze blood and body fluids using automated and manual methods to produce accurate results within established timeframes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, completion of a clinical laboratory internship, and Florida licensure as a Medical Technologist. ASCP/AAB/AMT certifications are preferred, supporting quality patient care across our laboratory services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in MLS/CLS or related field.
• Completion of a clinical laboratory training internship.
• Florida license as Medical Technologist in the required specialty.

Responsibilities

• Verifies routine results and quality control data for accuracy and reliability.
• Performs, evaluates, and documents quality control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
• Receives guidance from more experienced team members or leader.
• Demonstrates computer system proficiency including ordering, resulting, and inquiry functions.
• Ensures proper utilization and preparation of reagents and supplies.
• Communicates critical results to the patient caregiver.
• Regularly reports unusual findings to the immediate supervisor.
• Regularly reports work activities to the oncoming technologist.
• Responds to work-related technical inquiries as needed.
• Maintains punctual attendance and compliance with Orlando Health policies.
